Trump Said to Demand Justice Dept. Pay Him $230 Million for Past Cases www.nytimes.com/2025/10/21/u...
Lining his pockets at taxpayer expense, Trump wants 3,500 times what an average American earns yearly. Put another way, it equals all the income taxes paid by the citizens of 2 average size towns.
Santos Is Released After Trump Commutes His Sentence www.nytimes.com/2025/10/17/u...
Of course Trump would pardon Santos, heβs an infamous liar. The President has no empathy for cancer patients, bankrupted farmers , government workers, and he hates people of color, but a fabulist is an ally.
Putinβs Trump Strategy: Lots of Flattery, and Talk of Business Deals www.nytimes.com/2025/10/17/w...
Putin flatters Trump and dangles emoluments under his nose, thus removing the U.S. as a foe of his invasion and his expansion plans. A cheap date for the Russian bear, these Republicans.
Trump Has Not Ruled Out Invoking Insurrection Act to Deploy National Guard, Vance Says www.nytimes.com/2025/10/12/u...
The only insurrection Trump faces is disgusted voters, rejecting a dysfunctional Republican leadership that cannot govern.
Two years ago, FBI Director Kash Patel wrote this about using troops against protesting U.S. citizens
"Nobody wants the president to have unilateral authority to deploy military troops within America as he pleases. Thatβs a recipe for tyranny.β

There's a word for all this: Authoritarianism

Terrific editorial by The Seattle Times advising readers to resist Trumpβs authoritarianism with a sidebar on how to do it. Iβd add that, if you can, subscribe to the paper. Kudos to them.
ABC was created in 1943 because of an effort by the FCC to break up a radio monopoly. The new network was a breath of fresh air, and our country was at war with fascists. Anti-fascism was a patriotic cause, and it still is. But ABC has now turned on our country for the sake of a merger. How ironic.
18.09.2025 22:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The framers of our Constitution did not want the President to decide who gets to speak freely. For the sake of our future all of us must get loud about this. Not violent. Just loud. If the Red Coats can silence Jimmy Kimmel over a merger, theyβll be in your house soon, gagging you. Get loud.

Regarding hate speech, a completely innocent trans woman had to lock herself in her Seattle apartment to escape threats from right wing idiots who said she killed Charlie Kirk.

Everyone should read this, written by an expert. Government surveillance, growing exponentially, is now a crisis under the Trump Administration, even for children.
So much losing reflected for America in todayβs news. Our health system crumbling, illegal tariffs undermining our economy and our foreign relations, research institutes undermined, life expectancies shortened, China, Russia and India joining hands against us, allies distrusting us. And what for?!?

Basically folks, Republicans donβt care if the West burns. Billionaires donβt care if the rest of you succumb to storms. They live in a different world and they take you for fools.
New details. Border patrol agents raided an active forest fire scene (9,000 acres burned). They lined up firefighters to check their identification, arresting two. Said U.S. Senator Patty Murray today: βNo one should assume this was necessary or appropriate,β

Trump, in a Move With Little Precedent, Says He Is Firing a Fed Governor www.nytimes.com/2025/08/25/u...
This development drips with irony. Trump, who was convicted of loan fraud, goes after a Fed official for minor mortgage infractions. A black woman of course.

Excessive wealth is now a cancer in our economy. It is strangling us. When billionaires and other ultras take without remotely paying their fair share it ripples through our system like a financial luekemia.
I predict Trump voters will split along these lines: The transactional types versus the mean ones. One side hoped for lower taxes and prices, and it isn't going well. The others will always be thrilled by Trump's daily bluster. Offer voters beneficial governance and most will reject useless cruelty
13.08.2025 16:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Donald Trump revels in meanness. How does his daily malevolence play on main street, with normal people? Most Americans, if provided with evidence, will lean toward goodwill over heartlessness. That is (partly) why American prosecutors prevail ninety percent of the time.
