You'll get different definitions at different studios but here's mine: a person who helps individual contributors (ICs) and leads work with each other to make workflows better/easier/[Radiohead voice] more productive. They should be like oil: reducing friction and energy required to get things done.

Tried to explain this once to a programming interviewer. When I was thinking and went silent for a while, they seemed frustrated and kept asking me to "think out loud". Eventually, I told them this was a waste of time for both of us.

Everything that comes here eventually enshittifies. They become much worse and more expensive until they are nothing like what were known for. We are a great accelerator for that.

Uni’s tenets for the year - I don’t know, I don’t see learning, curiosity, or anything that feels human in there… “applied artificial intelligence, careers, the curriculum of the future, and above all, student success”. Ugh

In the first panel, a cat sorcerer approaches the dragon, who looks ready to defend his goal. In the second panel, the cat uses her magic staff to create a small break in the bottom border of the panel, beneath the pile of gold, causing the gold to start streaming out the bottom of the panel. In the third panel, the cat walks away, while the dragon starts to panic about the rapidly diminishing size of his gold pile. In the fourth panel, we cut away to a shot of the cat outside, driving a large open wagon. The gold that is pouring out of the bottom of the second panel is falling into the wagon, filling it up.

Which likely requires you to update Xcode/Android Studio + macOS/iOS/Android OS + all the tools, s/w libraries, SDKs, APIs that your old apps used, IF they are still supported or even available. And ofc, updating your OS these days won't mess up any older apps you depend on, right? Right?

Seems to be fixed now after a couple of days. I wonder how companies depend on Notion for daily operations, given how frequently buggy their releases are that break basic operations. Used to recommend it but can't anymore.
