First off, yes this is real. And jokes about TYT aside, the case of Ana Kasparian illustrates perfectly how effective transphobia is at pipelining people into the broader far-right ecosystem. It might be the ultimate reactionary gateway drug.

On Kasparian and the overall shift on parts of the left going full antisemite:
I think what is missing here is that this is all part of a larger move by the far right to just build their numbers. People are only seeing it through the antisemitism lens, but it's also a shift to the far right.
Chris Rufo tweet. Context: Rufo is annoyed that Candace Owens is using conspiracy theories to attack Erika Kirk.
What would anti-CRT campaigner Chris Rufo, friend of the NatCon-Orbán crowd and destroyer of "wokeness" at New College of Florida, be without slop, conspiracy, and algorithm-chasing?
Answer: completely irrelevant
Imagine the discovery... The one reason they are not prosecuting people in the states is because of this and the prospect they will all turn on each other.

However, previous evidence from switching off the algorithm on Meta platforms found no political effects1. Here we present results from a 2023 field experiment on Elon Musk’s platform X shedding light on this puzzle. We assigned active US-based users randomly to either an algorithmic or a chronological feed for 7 weeks, measuring political attitudes and online behaviour. Switching from a chronological to an algorithmic feed increased engagement and shifted political opinion towards more conservative positions, particularly regarding policy priorities, perceptions of criminal investigations into Donald Trump and views on the war in Ukraine. In contrast, switching from the algorithmic to the chronological feed had no comparable effects. Neither switching the algorithm on nor switching it off significantly affected affective polarization or self-reported partisanship. To investigate the mechanism, we analysed users’ feed content and behaviour. We found that the algorithm promotes conservative content and demotes posts by traditional media. Exposure to algorithmic content leads users to follow conservative political activist accounts, which they continue to follow even after switching off the algorithm, helping explain the asymmetry in effects. These results suggest that initial exposure to X’s algorithm has persistent effects on users’ current political attitudes and account-following behaviour, even in the absence of a detectable effect on partisanship." https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-026-10098-2
New experimental study publshed in Nature confirms what we all largely expected, that "X" was algorithmically redesigned to promote a right-wing ideological pipeline.

“The hot spots of resistance featured in our report are not spontaneous protests. They are coordinated assaults on our elected federal representatives’ authority to set immigration policy,” said Dale L. Wilcox, FAIR’s executive director and general counsel. “The Insurrection Act is a proven tool that empowers the President to deploy federal forces when states refuse to uphold the law. Hesitation only invites more chaos, loss of life, and emboldens anti-borders radicals to defy federal authority. President Trump must demonstrate resolve and use the Act to protect our sovereignty and restore the rule of law.”
The Federation for American Immigration Reform, the oldest and most influential anti-immigrant group in DC, is calling for the Trump administration to use the Insurrection Act to go after protesters.

Another one to file in really-existing-liberalism is not a bulwark against the far right, it's an enabler
That Clinton post says it all really, but in case, I've spelt it out here too

Horseshoe theorising is not only cynical, it is also incredibly dangerous as all it does is legitimise the far right, while demonising any alternative left of centre
Sadly, it's the only trick the failed hegemony has in its bag and if that leads to the far right in power, it doesn't matter to them

There are 130 Palestinian students who have been accepted into Canadian universities — but unlike other countries, Canada is doing nothing (or worse) to help them get here.
Advocates issued a fresh warning this week: these delays can be deadly.
ADL New York / New Jersey @ADL_NYNJ The Mayor’s Office to Combat Antisemitism is vital at a time when antisemitism has become one of New York City’s most serious crises. With @NYPDnews reporting a 182% year-over-year increase in antisemitic hate crimes in January, we have serious concerns about this office’s ability to confront all forms of antisemitism under its new leadership. The director of this office serves as a critical voice for Jewish New Yorkers and plays a central role in ensuring their safety. ADL has shared concrete recommendations to strengthen the office’s effectiveness and protect the entire community — without exception or qualification.
Truly gross to see the ADL already targeting Phylisa Wisdom before she even started her role. Especially considering her excellent reputation in the Jewish world in NYC, including the institutional one.

Otherwise, mainstreaming can go on even when far-right parties are defeated
