03.03.2026 07:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Three conservatives on the Court are trying to do him a favor by rescuing the Trump economy from the hole he dug for it, but heβll never forgive them because they shut off his spigot of bribes and favors and checked his power to do wholesale harm out of boundless ignorance.

Texas Sands is a pro-casino gambling PAC that has given to D/R alike. Business v ideology. Now, if $ had come from A's pro-MAGA Preserve America PAC, that'd be another story.

ICE is running a βconveyor beltβ of illegally detained Minnesota families.
Agents are arresting entire families with legal status and immediately shipping them off to Texas to deny them legal representation and avoid the federal courts in Minnesota.
The cruelty is endless.
βIβve never protested before - but I just watched 4th & 5th grade kids run away from our own government.β ππΊπΈπ

Fox will find a 15-second semi-coherent snippet and put it on an endless loop. And that's all they'll see.

That kind of stuff is reserved for hoi polloi.

For the record, since always left out of news stories.
During bitter Bush-v-Gore, history-changing, "Brooks Brothers Riot" Florida recount in 2000, the GW Bush legal team included:
-John Roberts
-Amy Coney Barrett
-Brett Kavanaugh.
BK also worked for Ken Starr.
All just coincidence, of course
The current Court majority is a classic captured court.
The Justices pick the outcome they want, and work backwards from there, inventing and disregarding legal theories on the fly in the process.
And they're FREE. All we require at mine to get a library card is some form of ID that ties you to the address you list on the application. Doesn't have to be a DL or have a picture on it. Could be a utility bill or rent receipt or a bank statement. No birth certificate or passports necessary.

18.02.2026 18:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I heard somewhere (Thom Hartmann on the radio, perhaps) that Thune's plan is not to bring it on its own to the Senate floor (he knows it's DOA) but to attach it to some must-pass spending bill and get it through that way.

No state that I know of issues those documents for free. They're $15 each in my state (plus postage/handling if you order online or by mail) and take forever. Poll taxes were cheaper.
16.02.2026 22:20 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Can you imagine what would have happened if a female Scotus nominee had displayed the histrionics we got from Kavanaugh (and Lindsay Graham, for that matter) in those hearings? I can hear the "she's on the rag" jokes already.
16.02.2026 21:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My gr-gr-gfather emigrated here from Canada in the 1850s. Family story is he was from Nova Scotia, but all the documents say Newfoundland. I also have Trudeau ancestors from the French Canadians who settled in coastal AL in the early 1700s. Nice to have an escape valve if things get too bad.

01.02.2026 01:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's what makes any hesitancy over funding cutoffs among Dems trying to look "moderate" so ludicrous. They're ALREADY vastly overfunded. They could fund normal operations for several years with what they already have.
