Coastal archaeological/cultural heritage sites around the world βinformation about our collective human past + historical ecological data of marine + terrestrial ecosystems β threatened by rising sea levels. Projections by 2100 range from ~1 m to 4 m of sea level rise. FOUR. METERS.
In Science (p. 462) this week, my colleagues--Scott Fitzpatrick, Kristina Gill, Patrick Kirch, John Ruiz, Victor Thompson, Jason Younker--and I warn of the dire threat rising seas (0.81 cm in 2024!) and marine erosion pose for coastal archaeological sites worldwide.

American Archaeology published a wonderful look into our field schools and how they contribute to Great Basin archaeology and changing the scientific understanding of people in North America. The article includes THREE GENERATIONS of University of Oregon students! πΊπ§ͺhttps://shorturl.at/O4Zj5
