Saw the follow on video in the replies and it looks like a scene straight out of an alien or supernatural investigation film with all the people in the bee suits. 😅

The US SAR System needs an overhaul... It's frustrating to this day how little attention there is to the technical profession.

Got myself a "new" (bought used) 70-300mm lens after capturing with my 24mm prime for the longest time. Already happy after a quick field test the other day!

Some of the smallest actions can build towards a sustainable future and it doesn't necessarily have to be outdoors. A trip to the science museum to learn about our home can be just as impactful.

Exactly, a documentary from a pre-planned event would be a great example. Like the Halftime documentary, it would highlight the planning processes, show how many Orgs are involved, and resolving complex issues. But yeah, understandably, some would be terrified of a documentary crew in an EOC.

Watched a short documentary of the Super Bowl Halftime show and wondered, what if #EmergencyManagement did this level of production to showcase the profession using exercises?

It might give understanding of what Emergency Managers do beyond response for the public. (Can you spot ICS-style vests?)

Been thinking if I need to have a second account. Used to do it on the other site, one for news to engage in discussion and one for photography/hobbies, social outreach. Many official accounts are moving over and this is becoming a place to rapidly gather info.

For most, at least once for the duration of the trail in a section after Blackjack camp where the Bison herds are often encountered. Maybe another chance of seeing a lone one who frequents Little Harbor camp. Surprisingly gentle with tents as it's just curious. Yellowstone rules def apply. #ParkChat

I can just imagine watching the scene unfold. Not something one sees daily on the trail of people trying to wrangle a lost cow #ParkChat

Oh the vehicle weight for sure with extra gear and what not. I've just started to rig my Subaru for outings and I can feel the difference especially on the downhills. Foot is constantly hovering over the brake. #ParkChat

Never thought about fog but yeah, it can be easily disorientating. I do remember a hike in Yosemite where it was so quiet and the fog set in. It was surreal and put me in awe... Until I realized, I didn't know where the trail continued since it wasn't marked well. Pulled out my phone gps map a ton.

Oof! I've had that instance of electronics vs cold. It's shockingly (pun intended) fast on how quick the battery drains. My inReach almost died under 12hrs of use because I forgot to stick it under insulation when camping one night.

🤣 I don't know why I laughed at this statement so much. Maybe as I'm accustomed to hiking up as the easy part... Going back down, well... my knees go somewhere and they ain't holding me up well, haha

This! Always a great idea to tag with friends as you'll have additional safety nets and lower risk. Only so much can be done from attempting to learn through YouTube... Hands-on experience can be the best way to learn especially with friends who can help.

I have to find research on it but one park made a sign where people consistently rested and listed specific body signs to let them know they should turn if they're experiencing any of them. The trail is deceivingly short. It's a great PSAR tool about knowing one's limits #ParkChat
