The furnace was fixed and then the guy ‘red tagged’ it saying it wasn’t safe and shut it off - maybe with a lock or something?

This happened to us several years ago when we were away for Christmas and arrive home December 30th. I’m passing on the best advice we got. Head to a hardware store and buy electric heaters to keep your pipes from freezing. As many as you can find/ as many as you need.
