Even if you are not the one posting racist images, even if you are not the one giving the orders or deploying the troops, complicity still exists. There is no “both sides” here. There is no in-between. You are either a good person, or you are not.

There is no plausible deniability left. The facts are neither hidden or unclear, they are right in front of us. Silence and excuses are choices now, and those choices are part of what define who we are.

The time to decide who you are is now. If you once believed in the president, aligned with his agenda, or trusted his leadership, it is okay to change your mind. You can decide that this is not who you are. You can withdraw your support.

The same president who endorses these operations is also openly posting racist images, signaling not just tolerance for hatred, but endorsement of it. None of this is accidental, and none of it is hidden anymore.

These ICE agents are actively assaulting, murdering, and dehumanizing people in the streets while their actions are excused, justified, or applauded by a cult-like following.

Federal ICE agents operate in ways that are eerily similar to those seen in Nazi Germany, using fear, dehumanization and unchecked power to control and terrorize targeted populations. I don't like to make those types of comparisons often but we are in the beginning stages of history repeating itself

The majority of the people in our country elected a president who has embraced authoritarianism, empowered a terrorist regime, and normalized state violence under the guise of law and order.

Over time those exceptions stopped being isolated. They multiplied, became impossible to ignore, and eventually eroded the faith I once held. I can no longer, in good conscience, believe that everyone is good. I see a much darker side in this world and that darkness has been intensifying as of late.

I once believed that people were inherently good, even those who did bad things. I thought that, deep down, most humans carried some measure of goodness, even if it took some digging. When confronted with those who did unthinkable things, I often wrote it off as a rare exception.

Ohhh...yeah. I can't imagine. Wheb I switched schools I took about half of my "stuff" with me and storing it for the two weeks before being able to take it to my new school is a problem...I simply had no soace.

I have thought about transitioning to a higher paying non-teaching job but the first thing that stops me is not knowing what I would do with my extensive teacher earring collection...

It was "release day" for 2nd grade butterflies but oura were still in chrysalis form at this point (I thought they died tbh, turns out they needed wayyyy more time than the other classes) so my class released me...;)

First day of school vibes (pre-k, 4th grade, 2nd grade)!

First teacher workday complete:

1. All day meeting.
2. I was not productive during breaks.
3. A very sweet lady I work with hit my car in the parking lot.
4. I did not go viral or collect 10k followers on tiktok.

Lol I know!

There are 21 years between my youngest and my stepsons. I am still sorta hoping for one more...

My first teacher workday is tomorrow and I am just aimlessly meatballing around the house letting out sporadic sighs.

Weeks 7-8: Full blown anxiety kicks in and is paired with stages of grief. Denial holds strong for most of week 7 and acceptance tends to come week 8 when I break down and go in early to setup my classroom.

Week 9 (workdays): A literal whirlwind that doesn't slow until our first snow days.

Second Day Out: New normal established and "off" fades ti "on".

Weeks 1.3- 4: It's like a Snoop Dogg and Lil Duval song, I am livin' my best life and not going to work tomorrow. This the emotional peak of summer.

Week 5-6: Slight anxiety kicks in at the realization summer is at the halfway+ mark.

End of Year Teacher Workdays: Ehhh, they all run together. Box checking.

Last Teacher Workday: CRASH. OUT. I leave school dancing and arrive home crying.

First Day Out: Not talking Tee Grizzley here...literal day 1 and feeling off. This is the summer "low". Don't worry, it doesn't last long...

Stages of Summer: A Thread

2 Weeks Prior to Summer: Increase level of joy paired with decreased levels of work ethic. Zero *cares* given.

1 Week Prior to Summer: It's like Old Town Road in the school, can't nobody tell nobody nothin'!

Last Day: Depends on your class but usually bittersweet.

An ick I have is when people correct someone else's grammar/spelling/typos on the internet.
