I spent last week in the wonderful archives at Gloucestershire Heritage Hub, starting work on my fifth PhD chapter. I’m looking at the experiences of those involved in the Siege of Gloucester (1643)! ⚔️ #skystorians #earlymodern

Spent today touring the Naseby battlefield with @ox.ac.uk! On 14th June 1645, after a decisive defeat by the Parliamentarians, it was in this field that Prince Rupert rode to protect the King during his retreat! 🐎🗡️ #skystorians #earlymodern

We finished up yesterday with wonderful presentations from Dr Ismini Pells on Philip Skippon’s war wounds, Professor Mark Stoyle on the massacre of women at Naseby, and @mandydeb.bsky.social on the landscape of the battlefield! #skystorians #earlymodern
