For those interested, while I have lived with chronic pelvic pain for 50 years . I’ve had all the usual things that go wrong. But what pushed me over the edge 20 years ago was my pudendal nerve entrapment.

I’m experiencing the exact same thing with my opioids. JFC to have my level of pain relief in the hands of some random guy who has a 4 yr degree in geology and doesn’t know my name is great. Really, just ideal.

Every Thanksgiving as we came to the table, Dad would say "Everybody pick your seats... oh, I guess that's more of an after dinner occupation."

I love my deepest, darkest mutuals best of all.

But, I am much luckier than a lot of other people. Got my kids and a person who is going to manage all my care thru this hiccup. I know she’s perfect because while driving me to a potentially devastating appointment she told me about her labor and delivery. I eat those stories up.

I could go on, but most of us will have run into situations like this when, and especially if, we are prescribed opioids. Been back on them for ~7 weeks and it just keeps reminding why I worked so hard and gave up so much to live without them for 8 years.

My doctor prescribed an opioid. He sent it the drug store. We arrive at the store and they say the medication needs prior authorization from insurance. I say fine, I’ll pay cash. And they said no. Regulations require my insurance company also authorize the script.

Give me Tylenol 3 for my pain is like giving a baby aspirin to someone on day three of a migraine. I will have funnier takes after my first real pain medication takes effect. Also, at some point someone needs to fix America’s problems with opioids. And, I don’t mean addicts.
