Just look at this bullshit ass comment I got on one of my videos. “It’s not that deep“, “you can handle it”. Just dismissive and condescending as fuck. Like Black pain doesn’t even enter the equation for these people and they’re all too eager to dismiss it.

From what I understand, no one from the event even reached out or checked on Lindo or Jordan after the fact, nor gave them a direct apology beyond “Shit happens. He’s disabled. Oh well🤷🏻‍♂️” and that is the gaslighting that many Black people are responding angrily to.

Why people desperately need John Davidson’s intent to matter more than the impact of his words because they must maintain a status quo where harm towards Black people is only valid if it was intended. Then they never have to acknowledge racism or harm as long as they can claim they didn’t intend it.

Tics can’t be controlled, but broadcasts with a two hour delay absolutely can. They had a duty to protect both disabled and non-disabled attendees and they threw everyone to the wolves for what seems to me like a publicity grab.
