I also wanted to visit Japan, because i really enjoyed seeing their culture & architecture. However as time passed i would hear more about how japanese hate visitors, and how they find them cringe. Never heard a single good thing about their treatment towards visitors and my other reason faded away.

Instead of trying to make their alphabet functional what they did was adding another alphabet to make up for theirs and then keeping both. Later on they decided to add another alphabet for the same reason. I personally hate forcing people extra work because some else made stupid decisions.

Japanese requires way more effort. Not only is a different alphabet/s but for some reason they just dont have their own, they love adding things to their own language from others that do not make sense; making it way harder to learn. I was trying to learn it and decided to stop, i think its dumb.
