The US has trade deficits because they like products other countries make. And Americans like the prices they get them for. That benefits Americans, especially because Americans don't make much of what they buy. Whining about this is like complaining about your trade deficit with Trader Joe's.

Imagine having to select a job based on its access/cost to health care? You don't have to, because it happens in the US every day.

Can you imagine what this country could be if it wasn't obsessed with one word: "freedom"? This word nullifies our abilities to borrow the best practices of the developed world. In healthcare, in education, in transit, in housing, gun control and much more. It's a "freedom" to chase poor outcomes.

If the fan base is motivated and cares, do you think it rubs off on the players? Imagine a situation playing out where your team wins the cup, and goes on to pick a key player who is a big part of the team for multiple years. Does that move you at all?

The @raysbaseball.bsky.social should be working with Montreal, currently renovating Olympic Stadium, to relocate there for the 2028 season. It's getting a new roof, sound sys, lighting, heat and AC, all paid by Quebec. If TB invests in game experience reno, suites, concourse, it's a new venue.

The Philadelphia 76ers do not need a new arena. The current arena is modern and in perfect shape, and has mass transit, to and from. There is no reason whatsoever aside from the 76ers receiving public money to further enrich their franchise which I am sure is doing fine, despite their Embid issues.
