It was interesting to witness how the K2-18b case was received among astronomers. Clearly it was negative. With a possible sign for life you need to be very careful. Also funny to see that it's not always the media that blows things up, but also 'top' scientists and their university PR divisions.

K2-18b is the name of an exoplanet that got quite some media attention recently, due to 'evidence' of a so-called bio-signature. But not really:

Yesterday, #FRONTIERSFellows explored frontier research—unpacking its key concepts and significance within the FRONTIERS project.

How has the scientific publishing landscape changed in the past years? How do science journalists adapt to those changes?
