Cover art for Ninth Doctor Adventures: Cloud Eight
Cloud Eight
without saying too much about where the plot goes, I really love how the Ninth Doctor Big Finish stories can be so unapologetically political, they get Christopher Eccleston to keep doing them by giving them stories about everyday people being exploited since he cares so much about that

I think transphobes are genuinely stupid enough to not grasp that this would be the obvious outcome of their ignorant interference in other people's lives and healthcare, even though this is what always happens when bigots attack bodily autonomy.

"The death [...] may be linked to a group of grey seals operating in waters between Wales and the south-west coast of England, marine investigators say."
I love how this is being reported like true crime π

Every time I see this tweet I think of the "you've gotta ask the RIGHT expert" scene from The Thick of It. Only this is not satire, it's just a major party leader PUBLICLY boasting about putting biased people in positions of power to act as yes men to her bigotry

This. It's very telling that the people who bang on about "irreversible damage," are completely opposed to the very thing that has the potential to prevent irreversible damage being done.

I kind of like this story for how much time the TARDIS crew spend just hanging out and enjoying themselves. It feels like there's barely any plot, which could be viewed as a negative, but if you're going to do a story like this, having it right before Earthshock makes the most sense

ruby thumbs up (you're doing it mate!)
Certainly online it seems that Dot and Bubble is the cult favourite Ncuti episode, I've seen lots of people talk about it as a memorable episode on here, Reddit etc. Probably because of how relevant it is regarding vapid social media bubbles.
I like it, this isn't a critique, just interesting.

The only 10/Rose book I've not yet previously read. So far it's neat to see the one year absence from Aliens of London being brought up and actually having consequences. It felt like that was always just kind of glossed over in the show #DoctorWho

Fifty Shades of Grey is a dark romance, NOT a kink/BDSM story, and this is what vanilla people need to understand (it doesn't help that the author herself was not really literate enough to make that distinction).

The Resurrection Casket may not be the most challenging read but it's good fun, a steampunk romp with space pirates, long lost treasure, homicidal robots and twists galore #DoctorWho ππͺ

Doctor Who: The Collection β Season 9 Blu-ray cover: the Doctor (Jon Pertwee), his cape framing an exciting array of monsters (or, rather, Daleks and Ogrons, but also Sea Devils, Mutts, Kronos and [yay!] Alpha Centauri, none of whom are monsters and not all βalienβ). Though the only antagonist who appears in two different stories in this set doesnβt appear on this cover, which is an odd choice, I particularly like the Royal Beast Aggedor reflecting in the mirror fixed onto the Sonic Screwdriver
Doctor Who β The Sea Devils (1972): A Sea Devil β a problematic name for an amphibious prehistoric Earth person from about 65 million years ago β rises from the sea, turtle-like head and netted robe
A Sea Devil blasting us with its circular fin-gun, painted by Jeff Cummins for an unpublished Doctor Who calendar

Of course I'm not just talking about trans rights. Wars and genocides like in Sudan, Palestine, Ukraine spring to mind, treatment of asylum seekers. Yet we act so righteous, pretend to care, we say killing is wrong, hurting others is wrong. But what is that morality worth? Fuck do we really care

Stuff like this always makes me think, the amount of completely needless suffering that goes on, people fleeing their homes, people dying, children DYING, boggles the mind. And it's all entirely self-inflicted by humanity, WE do this to each other, out of sheer callousness, hatred and cruelty. Why??

To people who still consume JK Rowling because "people are entitled to their opinion," the thing I'm curious about is if that same standard would apply if say the "opinion" was white supremacy. Or is it just when trans people are the target that it doesn't matter?

Poster which shows color photo scene of moving, a room with boxes and clothes sitting on the floor, a chair, and the end of a bed (white rails forming a headrest and a mattress with a red cover). The text of the poster is: "Impact (small logo top left)," "According to a new survey by the Movement Advancement Project, approximately 401,000 transgender people have relocated from one U.S. state to another since the 2024 presidential election." "The mass relocations in 2025 due to safety concerns, political conditions, and anti-trans laws nd policies have largely impacted conservative states across the country."
