Faeriere is tied in gote shibari. The ropes are being untied and the last stretch of the second rope hangs loosely on their right arm. Their face is hidden and they are turning their head as if they want to look over their shoulder at you.
Some of my favorite moments arrive when we’re untying. The ropes coming off can feel like an undressing and when stopping in the middle can leave you both feeling even more exposed and raw. It’s disheveled, imperfect. The feelings linger and deserve to be savored.
