For no reason at all, I'm just thinking about how the four incumbent Council Members that the losers behind A Precarious State attacked for their DSA ties got a cumulative 64% of the vote in their wards, beating their next-closest opponents by 32%.

Every case i see for “mls growth” prioritizes wealth at the expense of fans. Bigger franchises fees, more money, more subscriptions, more private equity.
Nothing involved with growing the game apparently involves actual fans who make the game unique.

Similarly, NWSL fans get excited by the increasing valuations of teams, as if it’s a measure of increasing popularity. (Seems like a proxy of that at best.) But when an owner has to pay all the other owners $165M to get in the door, it means the fans will pay for that on one fee or another.

Counterintuitive: the DFL is run by people who have no idea what it's like to live in an urban area.

Through every shutdown in history, the government has still provided economic data to the American people.

I’ve said it a million times, the courage and virtue needed to stand up and say “no, this is wrong” is found all but exclusively among ordinary people like us. It’s far from ideal, but it might be enough.

I'm mad about the shut down and worried about healthcare, but not letting people starve is a pretty good reason to cave on this bureaucratic fight, the more I think about it. So just say that: Republicans wanted you to starve rather than compromise, so we let this one go.

It’s not at the top of my list, but we need to reform the pardon power.
