But when one nonprofit asked state law enforcement officials for a fundamental piece of data — a list of Indigenous murders they’d investigated — the state said no.

Republicans denounce ‘childish tantrum’ as critics call for University of Alabama to cancel Trump speech The University of Alabama College Republicans blasted the UA Democrats as “radical leftist counterparts.”

The reaction from Brandon Vick, president of the UA Democrats, comes after Alabama Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth, in a social media post, said the college organization’s reaction to the president’s visit was akin to a “childish tantrum.”

Alireza Doroudi’s fiancée: ICE detaining Alabama doctoral student ‘pushed us past our limits’ “I’ve spent countless hours on the phone with Alireza, trying to make sure he has everything he needs and that he feels heard.”

The Department of Homeland Security issued a statement alleging Alabama grad student Alireza Doroudi was detained because he was a “national security” concern.

But his attorney David Rozas said recently that the department has not provided any evidence to support this claim.

What we know so far: over 1,200 grants have been canceled and/or terminated without prior staff knowledge. 70-75% of the staff remain on admin leave for an "undetermined" length of time. There has been ZERO outreach from the chairman's office to the staff. This happened in less than a week.

How badly will Trump’s tariffs hurt Alabama’s multi-billion dollar state pension funds? Stock markets had their worst day in five years after Trump announced his latest plan for tariffs.

“When you dump over the apple cart, it’s totally expected to have major ramifications,” Retirement Systems of Alabama CEO David Bronner said Thursday in a statement.

The RSA's benefit plans lost about $1 billion in Thursday's downturns, the system said.
