Republicans denounce ‘childish tantrum’ as critics call for University of Alabama to cancel Trump speech The University of Alabama College Republicans blasted the UA Democrats as “radical leftist counterparts.”

The reaction from Brandon Vick, president of the UA Democrats, comes after Alabama Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth, in a social media post, said the college organization’s reaction to the president’s visit was akin to a “childish tantrum.”

Alireza Doroudi’s fiancée: ICE detaining Alabama doctoral student ‘pushed us past our limits’ “I’ve spent countless hours on the phone with Alireza, trying to make sure he has everything he needs and that he feels heard.”

The Department of Homeland Security issued a statement alleging Alabama grad student Alireza Doroudi was detained because he was a “national security” concern.

But his attorney David Rozas said recently that the department has not provided any evidence to support this claim.
