Naz Reid is my Knicks pipe dream tbh

The Sheary hate has been ridiculously overblown. It’s all about roles and roster construction. Ultimately, this team’s problems are at the top of the roster, not the bottom.

To be fair, they were the better team for about 80% of this game, but the Blues stink too haha.

Brian Boyle is a great analyst. Basically called that goal after the Rangers hemmed STL in for two straight shifts, called for a quick up so STL couldn’t get a change, Rangers get the goal 10 seconds later.

C+ period against an awful opponent.

Scary that Brett Berard skating in with speed and getting a wrist shot off with decent pace on it was an eye catching moment, but it illustrates how painfully slow the Rangers have become.

25.11.2025 00:36 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Rangers seemingly unaware that the league has 6 full fucking seasons of video on the 3 offensive zone faceoff plays they run.

That’s coaching, and a mark against Sullivan. Gotta change that stuff up.

It’s dire as hell though I am not a huge believer in the Gorton pipeline considering Lias Andersson and Vitaly Kravtsov were supposed to be major part of it. Combine that with historic bad luck on Kakko and Laf, and here we are.

Doesn’t absolve drury, who is trending from average to bad GM.

But first thing’s first: call up Perreault and Berard and give them permanent spots on the team: Perreault in the top six, Berard on the third line. I’d even give Othmann one more shot for shits and giggles. You’ve gotta find out what you have.

If that continues to happen and the results follow suit, there’s only one option: tear the whole fucking thing down. I don’t think anyone is untouchable, Fox and Shesterkin included, even though they’d never do it and really can’t because of NMC’s. But this roster is going nowhere fast.

I’ve been defiantly optimistic about the Rangers this season because their ability to control the game seemed to be real. The last 6 games or so have represented an abrupt return to Ranger hockey as we have known it for most of the last decade: getting absolutely caved in at 5v5.

Embarrassing stuff from the Rangers tonight.

He was really good until that turnover.

The Knicks being the best team in the East from July-October of 2025 was awesome. Super fun times, truly.

23.11.2025 00:07 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I would argue that the Rangers don’t / haven’t had their Josh Allen (goalie truly can’t do it all himself in the way a QB can), but I totally get the parallels.

If the Rangers had McDavid / MacKinnon and followed the same trajectory it’s spot on. Even Panarin at his heights wasn’t quite that.

21.11.2025 22:08 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It’s pretty much the whole ballgame. Hope the DNC is taking notes (they’re not)

21.11.2025 22:04 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah I mean Panarin’s outta here one way or another. The rest of the guys are gonna be here and the rangers need to build around them, not dissimilar to how Dallas built around Seguin and Benn; two guys they sunk a lot of money into who stopped lighting the world on fire scoring-wise years ago

21.11.2025 05:33 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

You then weaponize those assets plus your cap space this off-season for a massive, franchise-altering acquisition. Don’t ask me who, I’m tired.

LGR.

21.11.2025 05:30 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Lastly, Drury needs to trade Panarin and nail that deal, and probably explore deals for Othmann and Schneider. Those transactions HAVE to net the Rangers at least one legit, NHL ready guy who can step into the top six, plus meaningful draft assets.

21.11.2025 05:30 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

That said, you want to see progress. You want reasons for legit optimism.

To me, that’s in the form of development. Laba is a start, but we need to see flashes from Perreault and another prospect (hasn’t happened), and maybe a true jump from Lafreniere into bona fide top line NHL scorer (not yet!)

21.11.2025 05:30 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I don’t think this is necessarily bad or a cause for fans to be despondent. The Stanley Cup was never a realistic goal this season especially given the team isn’t very far removed from essentially a gut renovation.

21.11.2025 05:30 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I think there’s a decent chance Colorado wins 60+ games this season. Absolute buzz saw of a team.

That said, the Rangers just don’t have enough dynamic players. They work hard, they defend, but there’s not enough skill, speed, or creativity on this roster to by much more than a fringe playoff team

21.11.2025 05:20 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 4    πŸ“Œ 0

Have had a much better third, and the first was fine until the late goal. This game isn’t some catastrophe, and I don’t know what we really should be expecting. Colorado has waxed every opponent, all year.

21.11.2025 04:20 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah I watch the jets every Sunday so that probably informs my endless Rangers optimism

21.11.2025 03:59 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I mean I can’t name a team who’s gone into Colorado and controlled the game. Can we try to not be fatalistic?

21.11.2025 03:54 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Not that hard to say β€œwe certainly didn’t have it easy but I feel for his family” but Jacob Trouba chose the lowest of low roads, complete with the shit-eating grin.

No ranger fan should ever defend this guy again. Literal human garbage.

Sorry to post a link from the other place here, but this is utterly classless garbage from Jacob Trouba. Fuck that guy forever.

Yeah. They’re not done. They need this to be a blip and not a sharp and consistent decline, but we’re not at whatever the the final vision for this roster is. I actually think we’re less than 50% of the way there.

19.11.2025 15:23 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Excellent defense. No offense. Every key offensive driver is over 32 years old. It’s really kind of predictable and easy to diagnose haha

Ultimately, NYR need a hell of a lot more from Miller. This is a bad look after an awful shift by all 5 guys; Vally rightfully called out all 5 on the postgame show, specifically for losing the board battle that led to this goal. But context is important here because JT isn’t a guy who dogs it.
