I actually read Silence of the Girls on my daughter's recommendation and am now catching up on the actual books before I head back to Women of Troy. Silence of the Girls was ridiculously powerful

Her Iliad is brilliant and "Poor Fools" has become one of my standard phrases! I think there is something wonderfully fresh and immediate about them. Must admit as a language geek I loved the intro!

It was very much worth wrapping up warm this morning for a trip to Hickling Broad. One of Norfolk Wildlife Trust's amazing people showed us how to spot various trails and tracks that animals leave behind.

I don't think I particularly enjoyed any of them at the time but was deeply impacted by the endings of both an Inspector Calls and Of Mice and Men
