200 years ago, Marquis de Lafayette visited Frankfort among many stops on his “victory” tour of the U.S. after the Revolutionary War. Richard Taylor spared no expense celebrating the “hero of two worlds” at a dinner at the Old State Capital, spending over $2,000 ($65K today).

Sixty-three years ago in 1962, George and Lolly Leong opened a new restaurant in Louisville, named Hoe Kow. This establishment was one of the first Chinese restaurants in Louisville, introducing many customers to dishes such as War Sui Gai and Won Ton Soup.
