Lynch: Won’t anyone tell Jon Rahm he’s not the victim in his own mess? Jon Rahm's complaints about LIV Golf, the DP World Tour, and major rules could jeopardize his Ryder Cup spot.

Are you insisting on being pedantic, John? They’d also incur suspensions. And they’d be responsible for the fines which no matter how much money they make are not insignificant . Now they don’t have to worry about it.

The β€œothers” who aren’t in the majors are the issue and might want to play more and this agreement is allowing them to do that without any hassles. That is the point I was making. Is that a problem, too?

28.02.2026 01:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It was a planted talking point early on that was woefully pathetic.

28.02.2026 01:12 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And let’s be honest, the β€œwant to play less” talking point was ill advised. Some like DJ fit that. But not many

27.02.2026 21:30 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The others also just might want to play more than 13 events a year and don’t want to deal with the hassles of being suspended and fined. They have now avoided that.

27.02.2026 21:28 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That’s the advantage he has. Nobody said he has to play the DPWT if he doesn’t want to. That’s his choice

27.02.2026 21:19 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That is correct. He did not play enough events. Since he is not a member he was not offered the deal the 8 accepted. Same for Sergio

Niemann needs OWGR and he doesn’t appear to have agreed to this either. With success on LIV they will be fine and it’s only the Ryder cup that is an issue for Rahm. Perhaps he can live without it at this point and they can certainly win it without him.

Bruce Arthur: Canada gave everything in its Olympic finale β€” and should have won. A golden opportunity ends in heartbreak and regret This Canadian team played their best game of the Olympics, but couldn’t score. There will be regrets.

That was one of the best Team Canada performances I have ever seen, except they could not score. Column from a gold medal game that hurt, in every way. www.thestar.com/sports/olymp...

Yes it is. But bottom line is all the players allowed back have paid their fines. They were never going to waive them. Why they allowed an appeal is obvious but the bottom line is these other guys want to play. Now they don’t have to worry about it this year. Meanwhile Rahm accumulates more fines

He knew the rules when he left for LIV Golf and it was barely 6 months after the arbitration panel had ruled the DPWT had the right to enforce rules and levy fines. Whether he was going to play this events or not, release was required to skip them. By not getting a release he was in violation.

Jon Rahm’s Ryder Cup Status Unclear After DP World Tour Settles With Other LIV Golfers The DP World Tour have an agreement with eight golfers that’ll let them avoid fines for missing events that conflict with LIV Golf. Rahm is not among them.

DPWT settles with LIV Golfers… but not Jon Rahm, whose stubbornness might be an issue come the 2027 Ryder Cup.

I didn’t take it personally. And there was no need to separate because the person who was involved was removed.

And those opinions weren’t expressed respectfully. All the media experts out there had an opinion. In my case, I reached out for a comment and reported when I had the info. I was in no hurry over something that was in no way equivalent

17.02.2026 01:04 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It’s important in the context it was raised. β€œYou were all over the Saudi backing of LIV! Where’s the same outrage” that was the grievance. And it’s nowhere near the same thing

Yes and no. I don’t think they saw any advantage. What will they say? Obv if it’s someone in their org this is different.

17.02.2026 00:03 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

… and then was this mad rush to call it out as hypocritical when some of us simply waited for a comment or resolution instead is going down the road of false equivalence
