Are you insisting on being pedantic, John? Theyβd also incur suspensions. And theyβd be responsible for the fines which no matter how much money they make are not insignificant . Now they donβt have to worry about it.

The βothersβ who arenβt in the majors are the issue and might want to play more and this agreement is allowing them to do that without any hassles. That is the point I was making. Is that a problem, too?

The others also just might want to play more than 13 events a year and donβt want to deal with the hassles of being suspended and fined. They have now avoided that.

That is correct. He did not play enough events. Since he is not a member he was not offered the deal the 8 accepted. Same for Sergio

Niemann needs OWGR and he doesnβt appear to have agreed to this either. With success on LIV they will be fine and itβs only the Ryder cup that is an issue for Rahm. Perhaps he can live without it at this point and they can certainly win it without him.

Yes it is. But bottom line is all the players allowed back have paid their fines. They were never going to waive them. Why they allowed an appeal is obvious but the bottom line is these other guys want to play. Now they donβt have to worry about it this year. Meanwhile Rahm accumulates more fines

He knew the rules when he left for LIV Golf and it was barely 6 months after the arbitration panel had ruled the DPWT had the right to enforce rules and levy fines. Whether he was going to play this events or not, release was required to skip them. By not getting a release he was in violation.

And those opinions werenβt expressed respectfully. All the media experts out there had an opinion. In my case, I reached out for a comment and reported when I had the info. I was in no hurry over something that was in no way equivalent

Itβs important in the context it was raised. βYou were all over the Saudi backing of LIV! Whereβs the same outrageβ that was the grievance. And itβs nowhere near the same thing

The take is itβs not the same thing. But there seems to be this outrage that those who simply point out the facts of LIV ownership should equate it to what one guy at DP World did who had zero to do with how the tour operates or ownershipβ¦.

I take it as the typical LIV grievance. Mad that people who have - correctly - reported the facts about ownership of LIV wonβt make the erroneous equivalent argument about the egregious actions of an executive who has zero to do with the ownership of the DPWT.
