Yes it is a lot of steps but it's still the easiest way for working class individuals to make it to the primary ballot in Colorado on the Democratic line. If you live in Larimer or Weld County, check our calendar for your caucus and assembly dates and information

more delegates are selected at county assembly for multi-county (HD, SD, and CD races that are more than one county) and State Assembly > those delegates go to their designated assemblies and vote for their candidates for the primary ballot.

Here's the Process:

Registered Dems only > register and attend Caucus > Become a PO and/or a Delegate to County Assembly (or vote for cool people to be those things) > Delegates go to county assembly and vote on primary candidates within the county boundaries >

Should any of your electeds have to leave their seat before their term is up, you vote for who is appointed to fill that seat or who is the Democratic candidate for a special election if there is one. Currently, 30% of our state legislature was appointed by vacancy committee.

At the caucus you can also become a Precinct Organizer (PO) which is your neighborhood volunteer coordinator for the county party. You also are able to vote for your county party leadership as a PO and you sit on the vacancy committee for your districts.

Registered Democrats, it's time for caucus and assembly maybe you've heard about it from a candidate, or maybe you haven't heard of it at all. Either way, we want to make sure you understand the process and why it's an important one to help get better candidates on the primary ballot.
