Well I started with a second hand trousers pattern (Style 4968) and adapted it. Got some inspiration from mood fabrics www.moodfabrics.com/blog/the-nov... and other ideas from Pinterest.

Big comfy alternative trousers. One of my favourite things I've made. Pleats at the front, elastic for comfort at the back. A cargo pocket on one side, a back pocket and strap on the other, and elasticated cuffs. #garmentsewing #sewing

Ah well, hopefully my niece will like it anyway.

I then used elestic to marry the top with the skirt, but it got messy before it got half way decent and in the end is pretty warped.

Mainly, it was gathering the skirt that tripped me up. I went off script as I usually do, used strechy fabric instead of a cotton and removed the zip. Was aiming for comfort.

Childs dress. OK, this one has been in and out of the project box for months, really struggled with this one. I'm proud of finishing it, even if I can't stand to look at it anymore. #garmentsewing #sewing
