The book was written by the German Social Democrat, journalist, writer and refugee Robert Grötzsch who fled to Czechoslovakia in March 1933, it was published in 1936 in Bratislava as "Wir suchen ein Land. Roman einer Emigration"

Today, the first time Czech translation of "Our Quest for a Homeland. Novel of an Emigration" from 1936 has been presented at the Masarykova demokratická akademie / Masaryk Democratic Academy @feps-europe.eu in Prague
