It does have one issue and it's that sprites β€” and only sprites β€” come out partially garbled. And sometimes one of the voices doesn't come on in the SID. I think there's an issue somewhere in the addressing path going to those chips.

Images of an old silver 1999 Toyota Corolla for sale

You want a car that gets the job done? You want a car that's hassle free? You want a car that literally no one will ever compliment you on? Well look no further.
The 1999 Toyota Corolla.
Let's talk about features.
Bluetooth: nope
Sunroof: nope
Fancy wheels: nope
Rear view camera: nope...but it's got a transparent rear window and you have a fucking neck that can turn.
Let me tell you a story. One day my Corolla started making a strange sound. I didn't give a shit and ignored it. It went away. The End.
You could take the engine out of this car, drop it off the Golden Gate Bridge, fish it out of the water a thousand years later, put it in the trunk of the car, fill the gas tank up with Nutella, turn the key, and this puppy would fucking start right up.
This car will outlive you, it will outlive your children.
Things this car is old enough to do:
Vote: yes

Consent to sex: yes
Rent a car: it IS a car
This car's got history. It's seen some shit. People have done straight things in this car. People have done gay things in this car. It's not going to judge you like a fucking Volkswagen would.
Interesting facts:
This car's exterior color is gray, but it's interior color is grey.
In the owner's manual, oil is listed as "optional."
When this car was unveiled at the 1998 Detroit Auto Show, it caused all 2,000 attendees to spontaneously yawn. The resulting abrupt change in air pressure inside the building caused a partial collapse of the roof. Four people died. The event is chronicled in the documentary "Bored to Death: The Story of the 1999 Toyota Corolla
You wanna know more? Great, I had my car fill out a Facebook survey.
Favorite food: spaghetti
Favorite tv show: Alf
Favorite band: tie between Bush and the Gin Blossoms
This car is as practical as a Roth IRA. It's as middle-of-the-

When I ran the CarFax for this car, I got back a single piece of paper that said, "It's a Corolla, It's fine."
Let's face the facts, this car isn't going to win any beauty contests, but neither are you. Stop lying to yourself and stop lying to your wife. This isn't the car you want, it's the car you deserve: The fucking 1999 Toyota Corolla.

Never forget: 8 years ago a random person on Craigslist wrote the most effective ad for the Toyota Corolla, ever.

oh now all of the sudden even the capitalists are like "idk maybe we should plan production and commodity allocation outside of boom and bust cycles of supply and demand"

we have a way of handling this comrades it's called a five year plan

It really does infuriate me on another level when people try to inject AI slop into vintage computing. Like no, keep that shit out there. We come to vintage computing to *escape* that stuff, not suffer it further.

Further AI is ruining the internet and PC gaming, keep it far away.

Running an AI agent in a sandbox, in a git-versioned project that is not load-bearing, to experiment with it and see what it's about: Wasteful, but sane.

Letting these little gremlins manage anything important: Even more wasteful, and entirely insane.

You. Cannot. Trust. Any. Research. An. LLM. Returns. It is "inherently" untrustable, because it does not, and can not understand what words mean. It is a a foundational problem with the technology. It's a prediction engine, which can work "okay" with coding where there's only x number of methods,

I'm happy for you that you still get more interactions on Twitter, but I'm just not having this argument anymore when it comes up.

You do you and enjoy the likes from bots at the Nazi bar while much of the fandom silently judges you. There's nothing I can say to change your mind on the CSAM site.

To be fair, that specific pic from 2001 hasn't changed all that much; those old buildings are still there, just repainted (and the Second Cup was tragically replaced by a Starbucks). You can definitely see the contrast in the other old pics though.

so I don't use AI stuff. There are many arguments to be made against it, but a very fundamental objection for me is that it doesn't work. It has never worked, I'm not optimistic about that changing in the near future.

But I'm willing to be surprised, so sometimes I test, and NOPE STILL DOESN'T WORK

Google telling me that research I reviewed in 2019 came out in 2018.

It's wrong.

But what if I didn't know that? What if my question was in an area in which I had no expertise?

Search engines are broken.

Good morning Bluesky! I logged on at work to 7 change requests on the PR I submitted yesterday… all from GitHub Copilot.

Only one of them was relevant, the, everything else was either hallucinations whose suggested fixes would have broken my code, or just inconsequential.
