Nice thread. My wife and I (70+) use a total of four e-bikes ; but even in The Netherlands with a reasonably safe bicycle roads etc. we know that older people tend to have (sometimes severe) accidents

But to be fair: a plant cell has a very thick membrane as compared to the thin membrane of animal cells - that may make a clear difference in the metabolism in the gut

As long there are no studies showing any difference, I would infer (just as the rest of the scientific community) that absorption is identical

These are very serious diseases from different origins; absorption of amino acids is not different if the amino acids come from meat or plants; we have here plant-derived proteins in food that looks and tastes as meat (and I love the idea that no animal had to die for it)
