This isn't some tiny glitch, tried the phone, desktop, VPN. Paypal is DOWN DOWN. Internationally. As in fucking dead in the water. Venmo too:

Watching all these centrist pundits stress the “civility” of Charlie Kirk’s style without addressing the ugliness of his substance is giving me a renewed appreciation of how the civil, polite White Citizens’ Councils conned the same crowd into thinking they were distinct from the cruder Klan.

WSJ has fired Hong Kong-based journalist Selina Cheng after she was elected chair of a local journalism union. She was told advocating for press freedom “would be incompatible with my job.”

Remember that DOJ sought expedited review of this issue from the Court last year (skipping the circuit courts). They refused and punted it to the DC Circuit, which took months; then dilly dallied all this time after the DC Circuit’s decision, before finally issuing a grant. It’s pretty transparent.

I'm glad to be off the other social media hellscape but there were some channels I was missing. Now that I follow @bodegacats.bsky.social here I know I'm going to be just fine.

Multiple things can be true at once:

1. Oct 7th was the worst collective trauma Jews have experienced in our lifetimes

2. The war on Gaza is a horror

3. Antisemitism is rising

4. Islamophobia is rising

Those trying to use one of these to cancel others are making things worse
