13.10.2025 10:03 โ ๐ 13 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Schematic overview on how MicroSpit operates. It can split superimposed structures in fluorescent image channels by using a suitably trained AI.
Concrete example for how MicroSplit unmixes four superimposed structures.
Immagine you could image two cellular structures in the same fluorescent channel and still reliably get them separated afterwardsโฆ
What would you do with this?
Nowโฆ what would you do if that also worked with 4 structures at once? ๐ #MicroSplit #preview๐งต

I found these immune cells just finished mitosis but their midbody is still yet to be resolved. How cool? If you zoom in to the midbody, you can see its classical shape just like in the textbooks. I love these little details.

โจ1/6 Extremely happy to share my PhD work is out on bioRxiv! We discovered that microtubules deform mitotic centrosomes. When we removed them, the SPD-5 scaffold became denser but didn't lose material. This suggests it's an elastically deformable solid! This only happens in mitosis.
