I'm gonna be honest, I'll be so happy to see the balayage trend gone. This look is achievable with a ten dollar box of Feria from the grocery store. With any luck we'll look back on balayage with the same regrets as circa-2001 Chunky Highlights

Mamdani has the celeb status that comes with NYC mayorship, unfortunately nobody gives a fuck about Michigan (the best state) so it just came across as Blue Girl Collaborating. Everyone already decided to love Mamdani, Big Gretch didn't have that going for her

That honor goes to Annie Jupiter, a 50something year old former lion tamer who was obsessed with the spotlight and pathologically incapable of keeping anything to herself and also had a motorcycle lmao

Jim Buttersmith was a gator wrangler by day, underground fighter/degenerate gambler by night. He would throw fights if it meant he got a payout. His stunt was called "hit me, I can take it." He was one of the greatest characters I've ever seen in a TTRPG and he wasn't even the best in that campaign.

He's got the Forever DM problem where anytime he's a player he is gonna cut loose and do some crazy shit. In my Fate campaign he tried to kill a player character just to prove a point, extinguished a burning priest while wearing an alligator costume, broke the police chief's nose on a whim

anyway it worked and also we burned down some random person's barn

The DM was like "this is the dumbest shit I've ever heard" and made Nate actually Google whether or not you could source a tanning bed in Billings Montana

We recently played a Delta Green campaign where the monster was sensitive to UV light and when we got to the planning stages of the boss fight, Nate talked the party into renting and weaponizing a tanning bed

The antivax folks are all telling her it isn't her fault, the hospital probably made him worse, stay strong mama. Doubling down to support the group that validates your decisions makes a lot of sense

Pitch one of your local spots! Let's all pitch our local spots. One or two of them will say yes, we'll make poem beer the hottest thing to happen to drinks since beer pong. All the breweries will be fighting over poets.

I can 100% see Speciation doing a poet collab and if you're not gonna pitch them, I will

Wait, are you a west Michigan poet???

Bells is great but they're the wrong brewery for this pitch. Try Shorts and OddSide, or if you want to go to the really artsy guys, Speciation

and the answer to that question is obviously "I'll write a poem you can put on the can"

I know a perspective shift is probably the last thing you want but: they can't apologize, it's a liability thing. And I know it sucks to not be asked, but I think a lot of facility admin etc don't ask that sort of question as an internal defense against empathy burnout.

All of it is unfair to you.

Your dad is really lucky to have you as an advocate but I hear your exhaustion and frustration in every post you make. I hope that you get some respite and peace soon and that a miracle door opens for you.

In my own recovery process I found it necessary to keep away from other people's recovery stories at a certain point. Knowing that recovery was possible was my guiding light, but my story and process had to be unique to me -- the other stories just set frustrating expectations & made me feel lesser.

Were those people wealthy? Did they have a strong, wide support network? There's a recurring thing in recovery narratives where the person in recovery gets tunnel vision and mostly sees the things in their immediate vicinity, a tendency to leave out mentioning required resources.

I hate to do this because I know you're answering in good faith, but I have to highlight your comment for anyone in denial that poverty is a flex in leftist spaces. It's seen as a moral failing to have any "wealth" at all, because if you were serious about your values, you'd redistribute.

15.02.2026 19:49 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

In certain leftist circles, you will absolutely lose credibility if you're doing well financially. The assumption is that you're out of touch, and if you're known as well-off and not putting a lot of that money into mutual aid etc, you'll be seen as just another selfish capitalist

do you hang out with leftists much? Because yes, it's a thing

I knew a person who didn't want anyone to know he had inherited a significant lump sum. He patched his jeans and occasionally went dumpster diving because he knew he'd lose cred if people realized he had 50k in high yield savings
