REEL formed when three refugees from The Psychedelic Duelling Wars congealed in the psychic wreckage of a Somerset studio to record Wild Garlick electronics, eschatological ambience & brown acid techno on adapted bits of farm machinery & petrol cans

It was already a fantastic song but they absolutely nailed it

A pre Judge Dredd early edition of 2000AD with Dan Dare and a monster on the cover. This comic cost 8p which gives you some idea of how old it is.

The β€˜bionic’ stickers given away with 2000AD were incredibly painful to get off.

Nick Cave: 'I have to spend hours talking to fucking idiots like you' | Music | The Guardian It's August 1988 and the Bad Seeds frontman and 'journalist's nightmare' is in ferocious, fighting form. Here's Jack Barron's interview – originally published in NME and now lifted from Rock's Backpages

For a thing, I was re-reading Jack Barron’s infamous interview with Nick Cave. Certainly a lot of people talked about it in school. I think, other than Nick’s dodgy marital arts, they both come out pretty okay, considering. Forget about speed. Where did speed go? www.theguardian.com/music/2014/j...

Yeah but anyone who could wind in the snark knew that Bjork was going to be up to some interesting things… and Sugarcubes fans ALL knew she was being really limited by that group (well, Einar) by then…

Yeah, I can imagine. I think he liked a lot of bands I liked at the time so that was probably important but he was never exactly Ian Penman

Oh quite liked him, generally. 90s cocaine is a hell of a drug.

Got this first from an LP library in Swansea… amazing how good it is as an actual musical artefact. Proper tunes!

In our world Elian Radigue has always been front & off-centre

It seems we've lost Γ‰liane Radigue. Awful news. Without reducing her to some sort of ambient salve, her extended pieces like Trilogie de la Mort have helped me through long nights of anxiety and despair.

AdiΓ΅s, Eliane. You were remarkable

Yeah, there’s a few versions I have bought from iTunes etc but for symbolic reasons I’d love a clean copy of the LWMVC version but it’s eluding me in all the usual channels

Would really appreciate any help sharing this.

For mostly very sad reasons, I’m trying to source digital recordings (not streams) of two very specific pieces of music:

London Welsh Male Voice Choir - Speed Your Journey (chorus of the Hebrew slaves) & Eli Jenkins Prayer

Come and say hi if you’re in Birmingham on the 29th March. Glitch has a stall in the market as well, selling all kinds of noise machines

Yeah, that cassette has very fond memories for me. Bought it in my mid-teens on a rainy UK holiday with my family and heard it first sitting alone in my grandad’s car. Lots of my favourite bands emerged from that listening session.

Yeah, every time I put it on it feels like almost perfectly benevolent music… almost makes me want to fall down a k-hole so it could pull me out
