Follow up note: I do not know right now what this means for Untold Tales of the Full Moon. It was our intention for the series to return for March's full moon, but given the mental and physical health setbacks the last 3 weeks of work have caused me, we may have to wait 1 more month. 💜

Yeah, definitely! Lol I really fell in love with it in a way I wasn't expecting. When I was done I stumbled on a Reddit thread where someone had asked for a full breakdown and kept getting half answers and I did my thing and wrote an essay post about it 😅 It's an incredibly rich text, actually!

The writer for this game is famous for the "When They Cry" VN series, which are also games where you relive the same cycle of events over and over again, gaining context as you go. It's his style of story telling. I'm a crazy completions and enjoyed the replays, but it's doable faster than I did it.

Yeah. 😅 I mean, to be completely fair, there's zero punishment for putting everything on easy. Some items carry over permanently, and for the ones that don't the locations don't change. There are also some early cut scenes you can safely skip. I think by run 3 I had it down to 3-4 hours per run.

I've been hooked on the Gnosia anime and grabbed the game on sale and few weeks ago. Yesterday I finally played it because I wanted to play something but I can't do action games right now. My muscles tense up and then my chest hurts 😅 OMG IT'S SO GOOD! Even having seen the anime, I'm so invested!

But, this game is actually meant to be about 40 hours long to tell the whole story. So longer than typical for SH but also on par with other AAA titles. It's literally impossible imo to fully understand the story without getting endings 1-4 (5 is the UFO ending). I'll get off my soap box now lol 😅

I think that's fair. The only point I want to clarify is the other endings thing. You're right in that this game is built different. The endings aren't small changes. Your actions in the first 2 runs unlock your ability to get the other endings. The game itself is about 8-10 hours long...

If not for Clair Obscur it probably would have been my Game of The Year for 2025, honestly. With each playthrough people say different things or say the same thing but now you have context that completely changes the meaning. (I may also be biased because I love Higurashi When They Cry 😅)

I say this as someone who never played a Silent Hill game before that one, so keep that in mind, but getting all of the endings makes the story evolve so much. It still relies heavily on the folklore, but as you learn more it becomes the more traditional exploration of the psyche. I loved it...

Yes! And it made it legit creepy, too! Like the times you could clearly hear something huge swimming by. It has that Jaws effect of knowing there's a monster but not seeing it so then your own imagination is filling in the gaps. I loved that so much. (And the notes on the map. "Weird Alien Shit." 🤣)

The looking at a small cramped space he'd been told to crawl into and just going, "Oh, fuck that." And to think he did all that while also directing! This was a one man show and done the wrong way it would have just seemed egotistical, but that wasn't the feeling I got at all.
