And now fascists are tearing it all down. Censoring scientists, deleting data, purging institutions. A tremendous loss.
It makes me ill that the Committee on Human Rights of the US National Academy of Sciences had to put together a list of resources to support US researchers and scholars subjected to targeted attacks.
And it makes me ill that I have to post.

YOU: Hi, my name is [NAME]. Iβm calling from [ZIP CODE]. YOU: I am calling on [HOUSE MEMBER/SENATOR] to speak out against President Trumpβs actions on Monday in freezing all federal aid. This is blatantly illegal; the Executive Branch canβt unilaterally decide to ignore laws that were passed by Congress, especially when it comes to financial aid. YOU: MOC must take action, and clarify how they will stop the freeze and ensure that the millions who are directly impacted by financial aid will not be harmed. YOU: [OPTIONAL COMMENT]

i will say that we have never experienced anything like an administration trying to essentially freeze the activities of the entire federal government while making a series of illegal power grabs. genuinely unclear to me what kind of response, if any, these guys are generating against them

The National Science Foundation cancelled over 60 grant review panels today, effectively grinding funding of new projects to a halt.
The so-far indefinite pause comes as NSF grapples with the impact Trump's executive orders will have on their grantmaking process.
