TK Bellows’ look as a whole is anachronistic. It seems to be based on this picture of Gene Roddenberry at a convention in 1976 ↙️, though Gene wears much more stylish frames than Bellows. In 1967, toward the end of Star Trek’s first season, Gene was way more clean cut ↘️.

TK Bellows wears an interesting and anachronistic pair of glasses in “A Space Adventure Hour”. They’re S9 frames, also known as “birth control frames”. From 1990 to 2012 they were standard military issue to navy and army recruits. Saddam Hussein was given a pair when he was captured in 2003.

Here's something I noticed on my rewatch of "Shuttle to Kenfori". The Klingon transmission ↖️ uses and old fan made alphabet created by Geoffrey Mandel for the "U.S.S. Enterprise Officer's Manual" published in 1980 ↗️ instead of "pIqaD"↙️ which has been the official Klingon alphabet since TMP.↘️

For some reason #SNW “Through the Lens of Time“ gave us the giggles. Is Roger Korby the worst archeologist ever? Is Ensign Gamble the ultimate rookie cop? After we contain ourselves we talk about Star Trek as a genre leaping format and if Strange New Worlds has been succeeding at that tradition.

The movie really could have been an interesting and comical look at how the sexual revolution failed woman and how a small town will protect its patriarchs (and sports rankings) at any cost. But instead it’s just gross. 3/

Starring Rock Hudson, Angie Dickinson, and Telly Savalas with cameo’s by James Doohan, William Campbell, and Gene’s daughter Dawn, the movie is about a new age high school teacher/football coach grooming and sleeping with his students before murdering them. 2/

Forgotten Roddenberry: Pretty Maids All In A Row Our final look at Gene Roddenberry's 1970's work brings us The Great Bird's unfortunate attempt at a sex comedy, "Pretty Maids All In A Row."
