Crucial reading in this fraught moment, when people are being silenced in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s killing and the potential for more political violence has risen exponentially.

Dick was very critical of a draft of mine on religious equality. Some months later, he sent me this. His email moved me greatly. A towering scholar going out of his way to write to a very junior scholar he hardly knew that he had changed his mind. A role model I will forever cherish.
