Suddenly a bit busier…

Shop workers quitting after violence including knife attacks and gun threats A Co-Op manager told a summit on the retail crime crisis that staff are leaving after an 'unprecedented' wave of violence that saw on colleague dragged across a shop floor by their hair

Shopworkers are there for us first thing in the morning to the lates of the evening, throughout the year.

It’s unacceptable that increased retail crime is forcing them out of the sector, and we’re dedicated to putting an end to retail crime.

I'm grateful for the chance Afzal gave me, for the opportunity to work on some important subjects, work with the constituents of Gorton and recently Rusholme, and for all the colleagues I've had over that time.

But time for a new challenge, and a new badge.

Its an exciting new challenge, but its a tough decision to leave. Its been a rollercoaster few years (including 2 general elections, a global pandemic, Brexit, international conflicts).

Thought I should share some ✨ personal news ✨ ... after 5+ years next month I'll be leaving Afzal + parliament to move to USDAW as Political Officer.
