The greatest trick they ever played on the American people was convincing us that even though most of us are only one car accident or layoff from bankruptcy, we're somehow not "working class."

Dems don't need a radical course correction as much as a return to basics: Universal healthcare. A living wage and a safe/fair workplace. Affordable housing. Good public education and debt free postsecondary ed. Respect for human dignity, regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexuality.

A major problem that Democrats face is that, in an effort to be a centrist, big tent party, they lack a really coherent set of core ideas to organize around, with perhaps the exception of being "not the Republicans." The result is that this allows the Republicans to label them however they like.

Vivek Ramaswamy talked about white MAGA folk the way that MAGA folks talk about BIPOC, and it turns out that they don't like it.

Everything in this is disgusting; none of it is surprising.

As much as it can feel like a joke calling Elon Musk "the Shadow President," it's not actually all that funny. I fear he is the Crassus to Trump's Cesar.

It's fun to needle Trump about "President Trump." He's so vain and thin-skinned that, while I'm sure he thinks "the left" were given marching orders, the reality is that he's just that predictable.

Look, Trump is a grifter. He always has been. He's prone to spouting bullshit and hyperbole. He almost always backs down as soon as the stakes get real. That's basically what happened this weekend.
