Here's my current node setup, for anyone who's interested. It just uses the target objects location, instead of geometry, so pretty simple stuff. Grease Pencil doesn't yet support the Attribute Statistic node, hence the conversion to curves.

Man Geometry Nodes is awesome. Since Grease Pencil doesn't have a Mesh Deform modifier, just gotta hack a pseudo Cast Modifier yourself. Gotta get that gorilla grip just right.
