It's easy to get caught up in the mentality of the reviewers who post videos of themselves unboxing premium, esoteric, deluxe Bible editions; and forget that the best Bible for some people might be a softcover with the back cover partially torn off.

It's only the third week of September. Plenty of time still to change your church culture and ditch the whole shoebox thing this year.

The person asking this is 13-years-old, has been coming to church for just 8 months, with no previous experience with Christianity. Interesting, huh?

From a Canadian perspective it is hard to imagine that your churches are not required to file full, public, annual financial statements. Not sure how you ever got to that place. It doesn't serve you well.

If I decided to self-publish, there are only two questions I would ask of prospective service providers:
What is your relationship to Amazon?

Self-publishing need not be 180° removed from landing a deal with a major publishing house if you've got good options.

This isn't the IVP I worked (twice) for which was the publishing arm of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. That incarnation of IVP was mission-driven. Then he dared to tell me the cost of publishing has gone up. Strange then that Barbour can publish pocket paperbacks at $5.99 US and isn't hurting.
