This. I’m planning to be there! I mean, I did 100 and 200, so might as well continue the trend. If you want to join me, the run/jog/walk starts at 9, down near the creek on the Trevilian side.

Yesterday’s milestones! Congrats to Ethan (25 runs), Charlotte (50 runs) and Steve who volunteered for the 100th time! Most people only ever come to parkrun once!

Our BlueSky followers get the news first. We will be holding an extra event on Thanksgiving Day for the 5th consecutive year. parkrun on a Thursday. No medals, no sign up fees, no waste. Just come as you are and run or walk 5K with us.

In a little less than a month (Oct 11) we'll be hosting our 300th free weekly 5K! We've been providing Louisville a free, regular, hassle-free way to get together and get a little exercise since April 2018. We'd love to have a huge crowd that morning so tell all friends and make plans to join us!

On Aug 30, Lukens parkrun started in Horsham, PA. parkrun is encroaching on Philly and we love to see it.

We closed out August by welcoming 49 runners & walkers plus a few excellent barkrunners to Joe Creason on Saturday. We had several first-timers including Alex who ran our entire course in a suit after losing a fantasy football bet. He did great!

Saturday will be our last parkrun of August and the last until Sep 20. Make it count and link up with us at the bottom of the hill at 8:45. This week we meet at FOKO (991 Logan St) for coffee & brunch. See you there! 🏃‍♀️☀️☕️

On Saturday the inaugural Brooklyn Bridge parkrun happened and 538 runners and walkers crossed the finish. This was the 2nd highest attendance ever at an American parkrun. 141 people had their barcodes scanned for the very first time. Exciting times for parkrun in the US!

As I stared longingly at my barcode, I couldn’t help but wonder… Was the real free weekly 5K the friends we made along the way?

Tail walkers

One of our super volunteers and her dad, a frequent Joe Creason tourist visiting us from West Virginia.

On Saturday we welcomed 48 runners and walkers plus 3 excellent barkrunners. 3 parkrunners grabbed new personal bests and we had 2 tourists from the UK who enjoyed a free 5K before indulging in the State Fair.

We were aided by 8 lovely and talented volunteers. Thanks to everyone who came out!

The British tourists we get live the challenge (the humidity less so). More than half our finishers have only ever finished once. You have to be a special kind of sadist to love our course yet here we are! 😅

If you’re looking for an excuse to get outside and get a little exercise, come join me on Saturday, 9am. I generally ‘run,’ but if you want to walk it, I’ll walk it with you!

This is the hill. There’s no cheating the hill. You do it 2X. It hurts. You sweat. You survive. When you’re done, you think, “I could have done that faster”. Then you come back next week, and you do it faster. And all for free. If you’re on a fitness journey, we’re here to cheer you on. See you Sat!
