This shows the wealth disparity (and a future struggle) among retired Americans. Average vs. Mean Income is just total $ divided by total people vs. a number where half the people are above, half below. Half of Americans retired have less than $350,000.

I do remember times where the '3rd-party vote' seemed rather pointless and served 1 purpose only: to deny the democrat candidate a victory and assure a republican victory, while making some 'ideological' point about some perfect world that doesn't exist.
