Snazzy bit of running around Bristol this evening I'm the rain and cold, other than the fact I trip over a curb and took a proper fall into the road - ouch! 🥲🤕

24.11.2024 19:17 — 👍 1075 🔁 432 💬 15 📌 13I am, in general, a big fan of the DQ series but Dragon Quest 5 is especially good. Perfectly balanced difficulty level, power spikes never felt like a major issue, interesting battle mechanics with being able to party up with random monsters, and a fun, novel story spanning a 30 year period -great!

A shot capturing a winding road leading through a mountain pass
A shot of an exceptionally green mountain summit; various other mountains are just barely visible, but are primarily obscured by cloud
A shot of a crystal clear mountain lake, reflecting the clouds
In a conscious effort to align my feed with content other than exceptional videogames, I present some fun photos of the Dolomites from the last time I was fortunate enough to be out there

I hotly recommend charity shop bric-a-brac sections for funky glasses! I threw a party years ago now where I sourced a dozen weird wine glasses from various charity shops and it added a real sense of cool-ness to the evening

24.11.2024 22:34 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I am a HUGE fan of the entire Professor Layton series - there is something truly wonderful about logic puzzles intertwined with truly nonsense scenarios. I enjoyed the animated cutscenes so much as a kid that I was ecstatic when a whole movie came out! Tying into an earlier entry, AAvPL is fantastic

24.11.2024 21:23 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I wish I could help but sadly I don't make the rules, all such decisions are made by a bunch of weirdos who are overly pressed about what people do in the comfort of their own home 😕 best of luck I guess 😕

More upset about the Satorl Marsh erasure than any set up element 😤😤😤
(For clarity I'm not seeing any issues with this set up at all?? You just look ultra cosy???)
There is something endlessly repayable about Mount and Blade. It's janky and difficult and your entire progress can be wiped by a fee unlucky moments- you're always on the precipice of failure but you learn and prepare and ALWAYS invest in wineries for oodles of passive income. Great game
24.11.2024 18:56 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Chrono Trigger, my first *proper* JRPG (Sorry Pokemon Emerald). Went into it thinking there were Fire Emblem esque permadeath mechanics due to hearing about what happens to Chrono in the story. Fun surprise there! Terribly cool battle system, with a super interesting branching story- Excellent stuff
24.11.2024 18:23 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Pokemon Emerald - it's Christmas 2006, my younger brother has received an absolutely huge present whilst I get gifted a small square box. I'm in bits - why has Santa forsaken me!? Little do I know, I have in my hands a copy of Emerald and my brother has a set of 250 rubbish plastic soldiers - my win
24.11.2024 18:06 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Let me get one thing straight - Death Stranding IS a walking simulator, but it's a damn good walking simulator. Its, admittedly, bizarre mechanics have been incredibly well thought out and mo-cap Norman Reedus does a phenomenal job. Excellent soundtrack, great movement, classic Kojima storytelling
24.11.2024 17:28 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Persona 5 Royal is absolutely one of the best games I've played in recent years - tight combat mechanics, an incredibly fun social system, excellent music and brilliant quality of life features. An excellent introduction to Persona/SMT for anyone, as far as I'm concerned

24.11.2024 10:57 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0A far more recent addition to the list, Disco Elysium is the fastest I have ever replayed a game - finished my first playthrough and knew there was so much more to be seen. The world is so perfectly delivered through the eyes of a hyperamnesiac, the story is phenomenal, I rather fancy Kim Kitsuragi
24.11.2024 10:53 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Xenoblade Chronicles was my fave game as a teenager. I would get up at 6am on the weekends just so that I could use the main TV to play it before anyone else woke up. The world and characters are phenomenal, voice acting was exceptional and it has since borne a much larger franchise. What a game
24.11.2024 10:45 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I have to talk about Ace Attorney - Apollo Justice. Playing this on a dodgy DS cartridge purchased in a Tenerife market when I was a kid was my primary inspiration for going into Law! Great characterisation and playing this before the starting trilogy leant even more mystery to Phoenix Wright
