Harrell’s office insisted that his use of the official Seattle Tik Tok was okay because he’s a very public mayor.

But we can now see it for what was: use of public resources for campaign purposes

Dear Valued ORCA Customer,

You are receiving this message because your ORCA card was used to ride the Seattle Center Monorail this year, and we wanted you to be aware of an upcoming change on that service.

Effective January 1, 2026, Monorail fares paid with ORCA E-purse will no longer receive a free 2-hour transfer credit. This means each Monorail ride will require full fare payment, even if it occurs within two hours of another ORCA ride.

You can still use your ORCA card to pay for Monorail fares. There is no change for trips paid with a Monthly PugetPass or Regional Day Pass – these products will continue to be accepted as they are today.

The monorail, owned by the City of Seattle, is going to stop accepting ORCA transfers? Boo.

Eminent domain Broadmoor! Stop giving MAGA a subsidy in Seattle!

β€œWilson won just 19 of the 420 votes cast in Broadmoor.”

The rest of us pay higher taxes because Broadmoor CC is taxed at 0.4% of its true value.

And it is incredibly subsidized. They don’t pay their fair share of taxes. Here’s the Seattle private courses.

My dream, which I’ve been working on for a few years, is for Seattle to have a pedestrian plaza in the heart of every neighborhood.

An update on beloved community member and veteran, Zahid Chaudhry, who is being held by #ICE in Tacoma:

He may be coming home soon, but only because his health has deteriorated to the point where he will lose his eyesight if detained much longer, due to medical neglect and the poor conditions

Most recent vacant lot sale in the neighborhood that I see was $1.9M for 7,370 sqft ($257.8/sqft). Sounding minus the dollar paid by the course, the property owners at ~$256.8 sqft should have property values of roughly $4.95M on top of their existing homes and lots.

Here's some analysis of how much we're subsidizing the private golf courses. The course + country club homes are *combined* valued at less than half of the surrounding land in the neighborhood.

The assessed value of Broadmoor & Sandpoint Golf Courses has been <$1/sq ft since 1983 even while Seattle property has increased 2000-2400%. KCAssessor claimed value of private courses was transferred to the CC homes. It's not. We need to eminent domain the courses @councilmember-amr.bsky.social

Seattle has a law that the city cannot lose park acreage. Consequently the easiest route is to swap Jackson Park for Broadmoor as a public course. And it has good optics 😈

This is to say: this golf course could be housing 13000-25000 people, AND generating $20-30 million / year in taxes, the entire size of the Dept of Neighborhoods, or >25% of the Seattle Public Schools deficit.

Instead it’s paying $85,770 in taxes and housing no one.

Paul has been talking about the tax loophole that Seattle country clubs have been enjoying for a while now but WOW I did not know how big

This is Broadmoor Golf Club. It's a gated right-wing enclave for the rich in Seattle. The golf course is 7 parcels, 122.2 acres. It's assessed at just $76k/ACRE!

These 2 precincts are Sandpoint and Broadmoor Country Clubs.

Seattle Parks must buy them for their wildly deflated assessed value!

The takeaway here is that it’s time to buy Broadmoor & Sand Point Country Clubs from the oligarchs shirking their tax responsibilities at the assessed value of pennies on the dollar. If they don’t want to be part of a city they can move to Medina.

It’s time to eminent domain Broadmoor for the assessed value and convert the MAGA golf course to a public one so we can building housing and a real park at Jackson Park & 130th. @alexis4seattle.bsky.social @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social
