And the reaction from the spokesperson for Migrationsverket: "We cannot look after the child's interests, because there is no legal basis for that." One would expect *some* degree of common sense or compassion, but no, apparently.

Visualization showing the connection between an air transportation and rail transportation system. On the left a blue circle with on its edge node airports and one (multimodal) hub airport. The hub airport is also part on the rail system on the right, symbolized by a yellow circle, and that has node stations on its edge. Arrows symbolize a multimodal air journey going through both systems.

New study out! Multimodal air-rail travel involves friction as passengers cross system boundaries. 8 factors shape experience, from guidance to transfer time & comfort. Multimodal journeys need cohesive design.

Through my blog I actually also got quite a lot of feedback that helped me sharpen my research, and improve the card set with recommendations I developed. Interestingly I now get to supervise a PhD candidate who has a much more advanced blog and dissemination/dialog network.

Therefore we bring together researchers who explore the next steps in multimodal mobility: from the promise (and limits) of Mobility as a Service (MaaS), to how life events shape people’s travel behavior; from stations as urban nodes to aviation’s powerful hub-and-spoke model. >>

Societies are aiming for more sustainable and human-centered transport systems. To achieve this, different modes - trains, bicycles, buses, shared & automated vehicles - need to connect physically, digitally, and organizationally. In other words: they need to become a seamless multimodal system. >>

The future of mobility is (even more) multimodal. Seminar with leading mobility researchers Wednesday December 10, 10:00-12:00, IDE Arena, Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, TU Delft

Next month a unique group of leading mobility researchers will assemble at TU Delft. They are the opponents for Aniek Toet’s PhD defense on multimodality in and around airports - and since we have them all in one place, we’re taking the opportunity to look ahead together. >>

Zoiets lijkt me niet structureel wenselijk.
