🌊 The ocean has the potential to absorb and store part of the excess carbon dioxide emitted. Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement (OAE) is a promising carbon dioxide removal approach currently explored.

A new RESCUE-funded study highlights that drought increases in hotspot regions cannot be symmetrically reversed by CDR, and the need for long-term drought adaptation planning.

From 30 Sept to 2 Oct 2025, RESCUE researchers participated at the conference in Laxenburg, Austria, held by our project partner IIASA. The event gathered scientists, policymakers & stakeholders to discuss climate overshoot 🌡️

🤝 Last week, RESCUE participated in a joint policy meeting hosted by @esm2025.bsky.social
This brought together policy officers and European projects with common themes & approches (OptimESM, TipESM, ClimTip, nextGEMS) to present their latest policy-relevant results and discuss the research impact.
