I’m not berating. I’m pointing out hypocrisy and people not looking at or wanting to accept the bigger picture.

If you have an issue with that, you need to do some self reflection.

This is the way in any social movement. And it’ll eventually become mainstream. And when that happens, just like with the emo bands, I’ll be telling you I was here before it was cool.

People talk about β€œsacrifices” of being vegan are the food you’ll no longer eat - cheese, chocolate, cream, eggs….

No one talks about the real sacrifices, the social implications. Becoming unpopular for not tolerating abuse. The bullying. The hostility.

It’s easy to criticise AI because it’s new. Challenging meat and animal consumption challenges peoples’ core beliefs and what they’ve been indoctrinated with. It never fails to amaze me how much people will try to avoid uncomfortable feelings.

It’s like when people would obsess about plastic pollution in the seas, whilst eating seafood.

Ngl, drives me mad everyone goes on about how bad AI is for water use, pollution and fossil fuels, but then they don’t want to talk about animal agriculture. They’ll boast they don’t use AI because of the environment whilst eating a beef burger.

Trying to do environmentally friendly travel as possible, booked us a train trip to Aviemore. Looking forward to the adventure and documenting the pros and cons. Hoping to hire a bike to go bird watching too.

What happens in the Middle East impacts all of us. People continue to be murdered. Now is not the time to be silent. It’s the time to ramp it up. Don’t stop talking about Palestine.

Now is not the time to be quiet. It isn’t a ceasefire. It’s a stealth fire. Trump and his board of warmongers intend to use Gaza as a template. Replace the UN. Turbo charge the colonisation. Delete your rights.

β€œI know this government exists only to disappoint us. But its environmental failures are even more striking than its failures on other issues. When the ruling party compares unfavourably with the one that brought us Liz Truss, it’s worse than a betrayal. It’s a threat to our survival.”

It’s almost reassuring to know we’re not alone in being stonewalled. If even the security services are gagged when they tell the government what it doesn’t want to hear, perhaps our communication style, or our modes of protest or our dress sense, are not, as we keep being told, the problem”

β€œIt provides a powerful vindication of certain messages that, when voiced by environmentalists, have been greeted with hatred, fury and denial.

The UK government didn't want you to see this report on ecosystem collapse. I'm not surprised | George Monbiot It took an FOI request to bring this national security assessment to light. For β€˜doomsayers’ like us, it is the ultimate vindication, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

β€œIt echoes warnings some of us have made for years, only to be dismissed as nutters, doomsayers and extremists...β€œIt is unlikely the UK would be able to maintain food security if ecosystem collapse drives geopolitical competition for food.”

Biodiversity collapse threatens UK security, intelligence chiefs warn Ecosystem destruction will increase food shortages, disorder and mass migration, with effects already being felt

Interesting that even the Guardian didn’t mention the report strongly hints at being more plant based and significantly reducing animal agriculture.

Time to rethink the terminology. These areas are highly valuable, priceless, for our food security,

It’s funny how they call it β€œunproductive” land because it isn’t exploitable for high yield, yet it tends to often be the land most productive for ecosystem services - water and pollution absorption, carbon sequestration, biodiversity, clean air, clean water, soil health…

You are always so spot on and manage to articulate these issues so well, that’s why you have my respect. Thank you for this! We need to be focusing on consumption, land use, human, animal and environmental rights - it’s all interlinked.

Research shows the UK has just 53% of its biodiversity intact, placing us in the bottom 10% of countries worldwide – and the lowest in the G7. This means that one in six species across Great Britain is now at risk of extinction.”

UK wildlife is in deep trouble – here's what needs to change The government's new environmental plan is a start, but without a radical shift, UK nature and biodiversity will remain on a downward curve.

β€œWithout a major shift in how we build and invest, nature will keep deteriorating with huge consequences for our collective future.
