Supreme Court Pauses Ruling Requiring Rehiring of 16,000 Probationary Workers A federal judge in California had ordered the Trump administration to rehire government employees fired as part of its efforts to slash the federal work force.

The latest chess move in the mass firing of federal employees. (Guess who the pawns are?) A separate order requiring that many of the 16,000 fired probationary workers be rehired remains in place--for now.
