The state of the union address was like 72 hours before the US and Israel chose to attack Iran’s capital and call for regime change, and Trump did not even mention his policy toward Iran before Congress, much less ask for a declaration of war.

They came here to flee war. Now these same people are hearing & hearing about explosions in a place they came to be safe.

Every civilian from Israel to Iran, and everywhere in between & beyond, deserves empathy. I’ve seen far too many heartless reactions already.

I can’t emphasise leading w/ empathy for civilians *everywhere* on a day like today enough.

The first casualty here in the UAE, where I live, is an Asian civilian at a residential building.

The nuclear argument is incoherent (“They will be totally — again — obliterated”?)

Can’t figure out what his argument actually is on an imminent threat to the U.S.

And he ends by making clear the U.S. has begun a regime change war.

It's good to see powerful men face consequences for enabling and associating with Jeffrey Epstein and I hope someday to see powerful men face consequences for enabling and associating with Donald Trump.

I appreciate honest descriptions of someone's academic disposition. My favorite letter in the stack of apps I've read this week is from someone who quotes a bunch of emails the student sent after class to follow up on points from class discussion. So sweet and wholesome and really engaging.

Speaking of Bill Callahan, when I went to grab tickets for the show in a couple months at Knockdown Ctr there was an option to by two "group of 2" tickets basically for the price of two tickets. Jumped on that!

Why do I hear a follow-up sentence in my mind: "So let it be written!"

Of course the opposite problem is every US academic whose every letter is for a top 2% all-time best student ever. But when they *don't* tick that box you wonder if they're trying to raise a red flag.
