Oh hey! It’s been a while #knitsky. I’ve been away and took a break from socials while gone.
#showmeyourknits is all about #lace this week. It’s been a while since I’ve knit lacework so here’s a crappy photo of an infinity shawl I worked up back in 2013.

No grays for #showmeyourknits this week, but I am almost finished with a side quest I’m WIPping up this month to counter the gray outside!
Daybreak by #westknits because I can always use another something to tie around my neck. #wipwednesday 🧶

Decided I need more orange in my life. Knitting up #westknits Daybreak (yes, it’s a go-to pattern for me) with #PortFiber Dance Dance Dance as the main color. This colorway is called Juicy Fruit. 🧶

Week 78 of #showmryourknits is #garterstitch! This storm is a good day to work up a project in it and binge watch something.
Here’s another of #westknits Purlbreak shawl I made.

Shooting Stars v2 is working up nicely.
I have opted to use spindles of the yellow for each section of the yoke pattern. A method common in weaving and lacework. It’s working out better than I hoped!

I highly recommend using your #swift if you have one and need to frog colorwork. It keeping the tangling threads at bay so well! 🧶 #showmeyourknits

As I was winding back I remembered that my measurements didn’t quite fit the sizing chart. Also, the yellow yarn isn’t as springy as the rest. I decided to forge ahead anyway.
SO going for a fresh start, tweak the pattern and do the colorwork differently.
Trust your gut. Today’s a new day. 2/2

Tried to post an update to yesterday’s debacle and somehow deleted it. Fitting for this series of errors in this project 😂
RECAP: Tried it on and it’s too tight with no way to fix without frogging. Chose to go back to arm split… 1/2

Week 76 of #showmeyourknits is what’s on your needles?🧶
I started a test of this geometric puff from the book Knit Fold Pleat Repeat to think about possibilities.
Also plugging away at the Shooting Stars sweater.

This is a depressing trend in new school design and budget cuts. Libraries are becoming shared spaces, usually media centers (if they exist at all) and librarians are tasked with multiple schools instead of full time in one.

Well folks, I reached a point that I cannot ignore there is no way I have enough yarn to complete this project and have a design tweak I want to add. 😕 I bought another skein of the deep blue from #lambstringsyarn. 🤞🏻it arrives quickly 🧶 #showmeyourknits #WIP

Hi Carol! I’ve been knitting for 17 years, studied fiber arts for my BA, and crafting I general since I was a kid to keep my hands busy. What I like to knit changes in time, the last few years I’ve focused on pullover sweaters but have a big goal to complete a cardigan and brave steeking for 2026!

I’ve been knitting in my studio the last couple days instead of on the couch. When I moved my project over, grabbed a blanket and invited him to join me he gave me the sincerest look of stunned joy.
Now he’s draped and twitching on my lap #catintheirhappyplace

I must confess, if the knot ends up in the “back” of my knit work and isn’t noticeable I leave it and just keep going these days

Mine’s gotten nice and tall, but won’t open up yet. My sister and I planted ours at the same time and are comparing notes to try and time a holiday bloom next year. Seems like first week of November would work?

Close up picture of baby, heathered red handknit socks laying on a wooden table. Knit from Melinda Goodfellow’s #29 Classic Socks - baby, child & adult pattern
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/29-classic-socks--baby-child--adult-socks
Picture of person looking towards the left wearing a knitted cowl, close up between ear and sternum to focus on the cowl. The yarn is made with a mix of red, light tan with some metallic thread. The cowl has a series of loose cables running vertically with ribbing on top and bottom. It’s very symmetrical.
Portrait of a woman on an icy lake, very white background with a few out of focus trees on the upper right of the frame. It feels very cold. Woman is standing center and facing the right with a knitted wrap draped in layers around her head and neck. The fabric is mainly a deep purple shade with broken lines of bright yellows, reds, pinks and lighter purple colors in a pattern that gradually gets denser towards one end.
This is a test knit made for Rastus Hsu’s Skylar Cowl pattern.

#showmeyourknits is #firsts to start the year right! Here are some my momentous knitting firsts:
1-First knit pattern was baby socks with Classic Socks by Melinda Goodfellow
2-First original knit was a cabled cowl
3-First test knit Skylar Cowl by Rastus Hsu
