My timeline(s) and direct messages from Syrians are filled with elation and relief at the fall of #Assad. What I don’t see is naïveté. They’ve all seen other brutal dynasties collapse, they know well how it can end. I’m happy that at least today they can celebrate. Mabrouk.

Love the series but I highly recommend the book, which is riveting and one I think you'll enjoy. Although I suppose the series will spoil the ending.

And, yes, the figure of disappeared in Syria is simply staggering. Soul-crushingly so.
